The Vaccines | No Hope

Ever since The Vaccines debuted this brilliant song from their soon to become second album“The Vaccines Come of Age”, the studio version is finally listenable, being first played on Zane Lowe’s show on BBC Radio 1. It was then put up on to The Vaccines’ VEVO YouTube page for all to listen to, and what a bloody amazing track it is!

To me, it seems The Vaccines’ No Hope is an anthem for the youth of today, not knowing who you are and what you want to do, and alas there’s No Hope since you can’t figure anything out. It still has that wondrous post-punk sound!

No Hope is to be available to download on iTunes on 8th July, with another track titled Blow Your Mind, a live version of No Hope from Brighton, and a demo of the track. You can pre-order the EP for the price of £1.99, which is pretty fantastic don’t you think? Do it!

Sharks | Arcane Effigies

In the abundance of Pop Punk bands that have come around, it’s best that the sound of true Punk should come up some where, and this is where Sharks come in, a Leamington Spa-based band. They’ve supported The Gaslight Anthem, Babyshambles, The King Blues, and Gallows which gives them something to be recognised for.

Being influenced by The Clash, as you should be finding British Punk bands would be influenced by, they have the sound that The Clash were brilliantly remembered by, front-man James Mattock even has the similarity of the vocals Joe Strummer had, which is another plus!

The video for Arcane Effigies channels how the rebellious youth of the 80s would have spent their time, it works with their sound and look, stylised as Punks another up-side to everything else.

Their compilation album The Joys of Living 2008-2010 and debut album No Gods are available on iTunes and to stream on Spotify, while the physical version of No Gods is available from HMV and most probably other good retailers, though I’m not sure about international releases.

Satellite Stories | Blame the Fireworks

I only found out about these guys from Finland only hours ago, and they say they’re inspired by Phoenix, The Wombats, Vampire Weekend and Two Door Cinema Club. You can definitely hear the Two Door Cinema Club in their sound with the lead guitar, and if you’re in love with all the bands they’re in love with originally then you’re in for a treat!

They’ve released an EP and couple of Singles, along with album which is only available in Japan. You can find them on their websiteiTunes and Spotify, and all that stuff.
